'All kids need is a little help, a little hope and someone who believes in them.'

Featherstone Wood Primary School is filled with amazing staff who do just that:

help, hope and believe.

Miss Haynes oversees provision to ensure that all children within the school are well supported in all aspects of their learning. She is on the school's Designated Senior Leaders team relating to safeguarding issues.

The SENCO coordinates provision for children with Special Educational Needs, including carrying out assessments, planning interventions, supporting the teaching staff and working with parents/families and liaising with external professionals.

She works hard to ensure that all members of our school community are well supported. Families can contact her to discuss any needs that arise and she will try to provide support or signpost you to other professionals that we work with on a regular basis.

In this section of our website you will find more information about how children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those with additional emotional needs are supported in school as well as information about some of the professionals we partner with to support our children.

What is DSPL?

DSPL (Delivering Special Provision Locally)  is a Hertfordshire-wide partnership approach where parents, carers, staff in early years settings and schools, further education colleges, local authority officers and representatives from other agencies work together as part of an Area Group, to ensure that there is a range of provision and support services available in their local community: http://stevenagedspl.org.uk
